Sikasil-AC es un sellador elástico mono componente con base en silicón, de curado acético y uso general para superficies lisas.
Usos
Sikasil -AC es un producto especialmente diseñado para el sello elástico e impermeable de juntas y uniones entre:
- Vidrios, cristales y aluminio.
- Sello en acuarios.
- Materiales no oxidables o atacables por ácidos.
Ventajas
Sikasil -AC tiene un curado de tipo acético, por lo que se puede colocar solamente en superficies lisas (no porosas).
- Mono componente listo para su empleo.
- Elasticidad permanente.
- No escurre.
- Buen comportamiento en un rango amplio de temperaturas.
- Buena resistencia a la intemperie y a los rayos UV.
- Excelente adherencia en vidrio y aluminio.
Modo de Empleo
Preparación de la superficie
La superficie y bordes de la junta deben estar sanas, limpias y secas, libres de aceite, grasa u otras sustancias extrañas que puedan impedir la adherencia del producto.
Métodos de limpieza
Se recomienda efectuar la limpieza de la junta eliminando contaminantes como aceite o grasa.
En juntas con movimiento, aísle el fondo de la junta para evitar que el sellador se adhiera a él. Para un trabajo más limpio enmascare con cinta los bordes de la junta de modo que la profundidad de la junta no sea mayor que la recomendada. Para cumplir con el factor forma, se debe rellenar el fondo con SikaRod del diámetro adecuado.
Para su aplicación se perfora el cartucho y se enrosca la boquilla que se cortará en forma de diagonal y al tamaño deseado, según las dimensiones del cordón que se vaya a colocar.
El cartucho listo se coloca en la pistola de calafateo. El sellado debe hacerse de tal manera que la junta quede rellena completamente, evitando introducir aire. Para el retacado y alisado del sellador se puede hacer con el dedo humedecido con agua jabonosa.
Limpieza de Herramientas
Se deberán limpiar inmediatamente después de su empleo con Sika Limpiador.
Rendimiento
Un (1) cartucho de Sikasil AC en junta triangular de 1.0 cm de ancho x 1.0 cm de profundidad rinde para 6.0 metros lineales aprox.

Precauciones
- No contiene fungicida.
- No utilizar sobre soportes cementosos. En estos casos aplicar un sellador elástico
con base en poliuretano Sikaflex. - No utilizar sobre vidrios sensibles o metales fácilmente oxidables, ni sobre mármol.
- La silicona Sikasil-AC no puede ser pintada.
- En inmersión permanente se debe aplicar solamente sobre elementos de vidrio ó vitrificados.
- No usar sobre materiales asfálticos, goma, cloropreno o sobre materiales que puedan desprender aceites, disolventes, etc.
- No se recomienda estar en contacto con alimentos.
- Durante su curado desprende pequeñas cantidades de ácido acético que puede irritar piel y ojos, por lo que se debe utilizar en lugares bien ventilados.
- Mantener fuera del alcance de los niños.
Medidas de Seguridad y desecho de residuos
Provea una ventilación adecuada en las zonas de aplicación. En caso de contacto con la piel lave la zona afectada inmediatamente con agua y jabón, quite inmediatamente la ropa manchada, no dejar secar el producto. En caso de contacto con los ojos lave inmediatamente con agua abundante durante 15 minutos y acuda con prontitud al médico. En caso de ingestión no provoque el vómito y acuda inmediatamente al médico.
Desechar el producto una vez que haya polimerizado/curado en su totalidad, ya que de esta manera el residuo no es peligroso. Consultar la hoja de seguridad.
Almacenamiento
Doce (12) meses en lugar fresco y seco, bajo techo en su empaque original sellado.
